Origin: Main ingredient of the cake is Chocó chips. Chocolate Chips were first created in 1937 and were further popularized by Nestle which mixed it in chocolate bars and cookies. These were a huge success and laid the foundation to be tried with cakes. Apart from basic chocolate other chip flavors include peanut butter, mint etc.
Composition: Base of the cake is in chocolate. It's different from soft choc chips as the former is made in combination with dark chocolate ie truffle ganache and the latter is made in combination with chocolate cream. In case of dark choc chips the cake is layered with truffle filling along with chocolate compound. After the layered cake is set and ready, it's covered with truffle all around and smoothened with a cake comb. The shape of the cake will be partially dome shaped and then copious servings of dark choc chips will be showered on the cake. White gel is looped on the cake to bring symmetry in the design.
